10-2-4, Sulfur & Micronutrients, Blu-gro®

Product Downloads
Sulfur & Blu-gro® Micronutrient Package.
Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 is a 5:1:2 ratio liquid fertilizer with micronutrients that contains a high percent of ammonium and nitrate quick release nitrogen. Unlike slow release and urea nitrogen, ammonium and nitrate forms of nitrogen are immediately available to the plant which makes them especially ideal for use during cold temperatures. Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 is an excellent fertilizer to apply early in the spring, fall and any time quick release nitrogen is needed throughout the growing season. A portion of the potassium is derived from potassium acetate that rapidly enters the foliar tissue. Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 contains no chlorides for added plant safety. The micronutrients are in the EDTA chelated form which enhances their ability while in the soil and allows tank mix compatibility with many other products.
Directions for Use:
For best results, apply as a foliar spray early in the morning or late evening. Allow to dry on the plant 6 hours before irrigation.
Greens, Tees, Fairways, Roughs, Sports Turf and Lawns: Apply 5.0 - 12.8 oz. of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 with 1.5 - 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. (1.7 - 4.4 gallons of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 with 66 - 88 gallons of water per Acre) every 7 days or as needed throughout the growing season. This application shall provide 0.04 - 0.10 lb. actual Nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft.
Tank Mixing: Add 11⁄2 quarts of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 liquid fertilizer to 100 gallons of water (473 ppm nitrogen) and apply as a normal watering or at a rate of 1 quart of solution for every sq. ft. of planted surface area every 7 to 14 days.
HOZON 1:15 Ratio Proportioner: Add 3 oz. of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 liquid fertilizer for each gallon of water as the concentrate for a normal dosage of 200 ppm nitrogen constant feeding with every watering.
1:100 Ratio Proportioner: Add 22 oz. of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 liquid fertilizer for each gallon of water as the concentrate for a normal dosage of 200 ppm nitrogen constant feeding with every watering.
Injection Feeding Using Electro Conductivity (E.C.): The E.C. of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 is 420 mmho/cm at the sprinkler head:
.42 = 100 ppm Nitrogen
.84 = 200 ppm Nitrogen
1.26 = 300 ppm Nitrogen
Determine the E.C. of your irrigation water and increase the rates accordingly.
Example: If the E.C. of your water is .10, the E.C. at sprinkler head should be .52 to provide 100 ppm of nitrogen. Fertigate at the desired ppm of nitrogen until the desired amount of water is applied. Irrigate after fertigation to rinse off the foliage. If you are currently using a 20% nitrogen soluble fertilizer, such as 20-20-20, the chart below shows how to supply the equivalent nitrogen content using Blu-Gro® 10-2-4.
20-20-20 Soluble | Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 |
2.0 lbs. | 1.5 quarts |
2.5 lbs. | 2.0 quarts |
5.0 lbs. | 1.0 gallon |
Pots, Flats, Container Material, and Foliage Plants: For this type of plant material, use 473 ppm Nitrogen on a 7 to 14 day schedule or as plants indicate a need. Apply as a normal watering. Applied as a constant feed with every watering, use 100-200 ppm Nitrogen.
Tuberous Begonias and Similar Tender Plant Materials: If you have any doubt as to the sensitivity of the plant material, we recommend half the normal dosage on a 14-day feeding schedule. If the plants indicate the need for a higher fertility rate, the schedule should be shortened.
Transplanting vegetable and flower plants: Use 11⁄2 pints of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 liquid fertilizer per 50 gallons of water and water in thoroughly. This rate is also effective on roses and ornamental shrubs.
Hand Watering: Mix 3/4 to 1 teaspoon of Blu-Gro® 10-2-4 per gallon of water and apply as a normal watering.
