Calcium Thiosulfate, 6% Calcium, 10% Sulfur

Product Downloads
Calcium Thiosulfate is a neutral to basic, chlorine- free, clear solution, containing 6% calcium and 10% thiosulfate sulfur. It is an excellent calcium and sulfate liquid that can be used as “liquid gypsum” in treating calcium and sulfur soil deficiencies. Calcium Thiosulfate may be applied by a fertigation system or sprayer. It may be blended with other fertilizers for soil applications.
Thiosulfate as a Sulfur Source. The advantage of thiosulfate, in comparison to other sulfur forms, is that the sulfur need for plant growth becomes available over several weeks. When sulfur is applied totally in the sulfate form, some may
be lost to leaching; the result of rainfall and/or irrigation water moving this form below the root zone. When elemental sulfur is applied, oxidation to a sulfate form must occur before it becomes available to the plant. Thiosulfate helps supply the plant’s sulfur needs quicker than other sulfur forms.
Directions For Use:
Turf Fertigation Injection: The preferred application method is to apply Calcium Thiosulfate in the irrigation water at 30 - 40 oz. per 1,000 sq. ft. (10 - 13.5 gallons per Acre). Apply as needed during the growing season as indicated by soil and tissue testing. Apply Calcium Thiosulfate in the middle 1/3 of the irrigation set.
Soil Spray Application for Greens, Tees, Fairways, Roughs, Sports Turf & Lawns: Apply 6.0 - 12.0 oz. of Calcium Thiosulfate with 1.5 - 2 gallons of water per 1,000 sq. ft. (2.0 - 4.0 gallons of Calcium Thiosulfate with 66 - 88 gallons of water per Acre). Apply every 14 days throughout the growing season. Irrigate immediately after application to knock concentration off leaf blades to prevent injury and into the soil profile to correct sulfur and calcium deficiencies.
It is not recommended to apply foliar applications of Calcium Thiosulfate on turf without irrigation due to the possibility of burn after application. (Foliar application is defined as a spray application that is NOT irrigated into the soil). Do not apply to turf when temperatures are above 90°F. Apply Calcium Thiosulfate in the early morning or late evening.
